Located at Novotel Manado Golf Resort & Convention Center on February 25, 2022, Manado State Polytechnic and the ILO supported by the UK-Government held a Tourism Advisory Board meeting to discuss practical steps as a follow-up to the previous advisory board establishment.
The event was opened by the Director of the Manado State Polytechnic, Dra. Maryke Alelo, MBA. In her speech, the Director said that the aim of the FGD meeting according to the Relevance pillar of the project was to strengthen the involvement of industry (in this case tourism) in education by reducing skills mismatches.
The focus group discussion presented the keynote speakers:
- Mary Kent, Chief Technical Advisor, UK Skills for Prosperity Program Indonesia, International Labor Organization (On-site)
- Ir. Emie Santoso, M.T. from Shipbuilding Institute Of Polytechnic Surabaya (Online).
The results obtained from this activity are the availability of a list agreed with the industry, including:
- Structure and mechanism as well as draft logbook for apprentices tourism students in Polimanado’s partner industries;
- Discussed the mechanism of industrial lecturers as well as schedules and topics in the Polimanado tourism department.
